[...] Don’t be afraid of failure – everyone sucks at first. Think about it. At one point in his life, Lance Armstrong couldn’t ride a bike. He was just a bumbly kid who probably skinned his knees when he first tried to ride without training wheels. It just so happened that he practiced. A lot. Until he mastered his skill and became a world champion at it. [...]

"The most important part of my failure was probably that it showed me that the disappointment in failing the test was much worse than missing the things that I was doing when I should have been studying."

that's awesome man. I bet you'll never forget that lesson.

good luck on round 3!

"Failing enough times will teach you how to fight. Fight for something hard enough and you’ll know what real success (not luck or happenstance) feels like."

My new favorite quote.

I retook it and passed last June, thankfully. I've probably never been quite so relieved to pass something, but it also felt good because it felt like I'd earned it. 2 years of studying for a single 6 hour exam will do that to you.
I'm studying for the 3rd and final level of the test this June. I'm absolutely not going to let the same thing happen with Level 3 that happened at Level 2. The most important part of my failure was probably that it showed me that the disappointment in failing the test was much worse than missing the things that I was doing when I should have been studying.

As a person who has experienced alot of failure in life, I can tell you that only after my failures was I able to grow spiritually, financially, mentally, physically and emotionally. Failure helped me realize what I should be doing with my life. Fail up is what everyone must do to realize their potential!

wow, that sounds like a learning experience to me :)

Did you retake the test yet? If you haven't, I bet it will be even more rewarding when pass it.

Fail often is a good call. I have always taken my ability to perform well in school and on tests for granted. Well, the 2nd level of a professional certification exam came around, and I sort of figured I'd cruise through it like I always have. Oops. Failed that thing. The worst part of it all is that the test is only offered once per year and it's given the Saturday after Memorial Day, so it kills that long weekend.
On the flipside, it was sort of the kick in the pants I needed because I've been operating for far too long under the assumption that I will just always be able to pass any standardized test with very little preparation.
