Thanks for giving Skribit a whirl Brandon and telling your readers about it - that's by far the best tip I can give new Skribit users. Your readers won't give you post suggestions if they don't know how/where they can.

We recently kind of changed the function of suggestions in that instead of "votes", suggestions have "followers" for the life of the suggestion. We figured this was a better system as people that follow the suggestion get notified of changes, status updates, comments, and of course of it's completion.

The other tip I can give is to set it and forget it. Keep Skribit up for a while. Most of the time, you won't immediately get lots of suggestions. If you get maybe 50 comments a month, suggestions are a bit less common - just by their nature, users might not have anything in mind at the moment, and suggestions are more geared towards people that have been following your blog for a while and know what types of things would be a great fit - so you might only get a few in a month.

That being said, you can add any suggestions you see on Skribit.com to you blog. While there's no smooth way of searching everything right now, you can do things like browse by tags. Ex: http://skribit.com/blogs/tags/health

Best,
Paul
