If you are in an active weight loss plan, the question of how often you should weigh yourself could be a difficult one. If you are really working hard on your goals, you may be tempted to weigh yourself everyday; maybe even multiple times a day. This, however, could lead to some inaccurate data as well as some unnecessary frustration.
Everyone’s weight fluctuates naturally throughout the week. Some times we actually weigh more than other times due to nothing more than simple water retention. My advice is to weigh yourself only once per week. Do it on the same day of the week, at the same time of day, and even in the same clothing. This way you will be sure to get the most accurate results. If your weight hasn’t changed (and there are no other external factors that may be affecting the weigh in: e.g. big dinner the night before) then you will know that you will need to make additional changes in your lifestyle.
Fight the temptation to constantly weigh yourself. You won’t be getting the most accurate results and if you don’t see the results you’re looking for, you may wind up needlessly discouraged.
