I’m not entirely sure how healthy this item is but it is definitely one of the coolest food hacks I’ve seen in a long time. The next time you have a mean craving for some chocolate cake but don’t want to mix batter, clean pans or put any of the necessary work in baking, try this instant chocolate cake recipe using microwavable hot chocolate packets. The recipe listed here may require tweaking as the initial tasting proved to be less than desirable, but as the article says: “even the worst chocolate cake is better than no chocolate cake.”
Sate your afternoon sugar cravings with a dead-easy chocolate cake
recipe that only requires hot chocolate mix, flour, an egg, cooking
spray, and oil (all stuff you’ve got in your pantry anyway). Grab the
biggest microwavable coffee mug you’ve got in your cupboard, and cover
the inside with cooking spray. Mix up four tablespoons of flour and
nine tablespoons of hot chocolate mix, then throw in three tablespoons
of water, three tablespoons of oil and one egg. Once it’s thoroughly
mixed into an even batter, microwave the whole shebang for three
minutes on high.

That looks really good and sounds super easy! Sounds like too much oil for a ‘personal coffee mug cake’ to me, though. And I wonder how well it would work with the Weight Watchers 2pt muffins that are made from German choc. cake mix and pumpkin pie filling? Hmm…
Oh yeah, and a ‘whole’ egg - for just one cup - that probably helped to make it a little yucky, too.
Must investigate the 2pt muffin thing further….
