
Mickey DeLorenzo of Philadelphia has recently succeeded in losing 15lbs in only 41 days. While not earth shattering results in-and-of itself, it should be noted that he did it all simply by playing 1 hour of video games a day. In May, Mickey secured a pre-release version of the popular Wii game, Wii Fit. The game involves testing your fitness abilities and provides training type games to not only encourage people to get into fitness, but also to have fun. Mickey proceeded in his experiment to see what would happen if he played Wii Fit intensively for one hour a day for 41 days. You can see the results for yourself. His site WiiNintendo.net has the whole process documented and has links to various mainstream press outlets that picked up his remarkable story.
While I don’t believe that Wii Fit was ever designed as an actual fitness program, it is a great example of finding a form of exercise that you love and sticking with it. I talk about jogging alot on FitHacks because it is a great form of exercise and it is something I love to do. Many people hate jogging and that’s ok (even I did at first). The point is to find something physically active that you can do regularly and will actually enjoy. Congrats to Mickey for his creative success.
